itzbig Finds Right
Match in New CEO Jim McGovern
itzbig (www.itzbig.com), an interactive sourcing
network that discreetly and accurately connects technology companies
and qualified job candidates, announced today that it has hired
Jim McGovern as its new CEO.
Jim Hammock, former CEO and co-founder
of itzbig, will remain as chairman.
"Jim McGovern is exactly what we wanted in a CEO, given his
broad experience in leading online businesses that market both to
consumers and to companies," said Hammock. "itzbig is
uniquely positioned to address the frustrations that employers and
candidates have with the status quo, so there is a good fit between
our opportunities and Jim's background."
McGovern has a strong
track record, including stints at IBM, Business.com, Ticketmaster
Online - CitySearch, and most recently as CEO of Marketwire
for six years.
"itzbig is already influencing how technology companies and
highly qualified job applicants use the Internet to find each other," said
McGovern. "By emphasizing privacy and anonymity and leveraging
real-time matching algorithms, itzbig is building a network that
offers powerful new efficiencies for everyone: job seekers, employed
professionals, recruiters and employers."
McGovern added that
he is delighted to be working closely with Hammock, Hank Stringer
and CTO Asad Khan, itzbig's other founders,
in light of their vast experience in the industry. In addition
to itzbig, Hammock and Stringer were the founders of Hire.com almost
a decade ago.
