Tello, a provider of instant communication and collaboration solutions,
has appointed Kevin Gavin as Chief Marketing Officer. In his new role,
Gavin will be responsible for developing and driving Tello's global
marketing strategy.
Gavin, a 24-year veteran of the telecommunications industry, brings
to Tello a tremendous amount of relevant experience helping early
stage start-up telecommunications companies achieve market-leading
status in new category creations. He was Vice President of Marketing
at McCaw Cellular in the late 1980's when the cellular industry was
just emerging. He later became Corporate Vice President of Marketing
and Product Development at Nextel, where he joined the company when
it was still called FleetCall and led the renaming of the company
as well as the initial product introduction of the Nextel digital
mobile network service.
More recently, Gavin served as Chief Marketing Officer at GoBeam,
the leading provider of VoIP-based hosted PBX services in the US.
GoBeam won multiple awards and honors as a leading innovator in hosted
business VoIP and had the number one market share in the emerging
category when Gavin helped sell the company to Covad.
"Kevin is an experienced and recognized leader in telecommunications
marketing," said Doug Renert, CEO of Tello. "His breadth
of experience spans every facet of the industry. We anticipate Kevin's
background and impressive track record of meeting customer needs will

is joining us during this crucial phase as Tello launches our breakthrough
solution and emerges to play a leading role in the telecom industry
transformation."
"Tello is an exciting and innovative company at the forefront
of the communications industry," said Kevin Gavin, CMO of Tello.
"It's exciting to work at a company that is so well positioned
to play a leading role in the emerging instant communications and
collaboration category. I am looking forward to adding fuel to the
company's growth by helping to shape corporate strategy and product
development as we rapidly build awareness and drive the customer value
of Tello."
Gavin is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business at The University
