LightPointe, a designer and manufacturer of high-speed outdoor wireless products, today announced the expansion of its international channel operations through new agreements with distribution partners in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. The distribution agreements with Anixter, Pan Dacom, Conectis, IT Way, Artec, Profitek SA, Attrix, TR Corporation/IDS, and Optical Solutions Australia build upon strong momentum begun last year in the enterprise and service provider markets.

"LightPointe's successes to date have been based on the ability to identity and attract strong channel partners," says Steve DeWindt, LightPointe senior vice president of worldwide sales. "We are a channel-driven company. As we continue to grow and introduce exciting, new outdoor wireless products, the addition of these major distributors helps us broaden our reach and better serve a global customer base in need of high-bandwidth, point-to-point connectivity solutions."

Among other things, the new distribution agreements provide LightPointe with improved entry gateways into international service provider markets, and enterprise vertical market segments, including corporate, government, education and health care. The most recently signed distribution partners for LightPointe and their geographic regions of focus are:
  • Anixter -- Latin America
  • Pan Dacom -- Germany and Austria
  • Conectis -- France
  • IT Way -- Italy, Spain and Portugal
  • Artec -- Israel
  • Profitek SA -- South Africa
  • Attrix -- Malaysia and Vietnam
  • TR Corporation/IDS -- Australia and New Zealand
  • Optical Solutions Australia -- Australia and New Zealand
LightPointe has solidified its position as the leading provider of optical wireless solutions in the enterprise and service provider markets. The company already has distribution agreements in the U.S. with Westcon Group and TerraWave Solutions, as well as partner arrangements with Siemens AG and Huawei Technologies Ltd., the $10 billion Chinese networking company. Huawei is deploying LightPointe's optical wireless products for service provider networks in emerging telecommunications markets outside the U.S.

LightPointe's outdoor wireless products provide high-bandwidth, point-to-point connectivity of up to 1.25 Gbps. The company's most recent product-the FlightStrata 100 XA-is the first of its kind to blend optical wireless and unlicensed radio frequency with fully integrated auto-switching capability for 99.999 percent network availability and uptime. The company's optical wireless products include the FlightStrata, the world's only four-beam product with auto tracking; the FlightLite, a single-beam, entry-level product; and the FlightSpectrum, a two-beam wireless service provider product. LightPointe is headquartered in San Diego, California, where it also develops and manufactures its outdoor wireless products.
