Sionex Corporation Closes Series C Round of Financing
Company Continues to Expand as a Major Supplier
of Chemical and Biological Sensor Systems in the
Threat Detection Markets and beyond
BEDFORD, MA

Sionex Corporation, a company focused on commercializing breakthrough
chemical and biological sensors and systems, today announced the completion
of a $12 million Series C round of financing. Rho Ventures and Morgenthaler
Ventures led the round with additional funding from Dow Chemical Corporate
Venture Capital and Navigator Technology Ventures.
Sionex has grown from a development stage company to a commercial
supplier of its proprietary microDMxTM technology. Commercial products
from Thermo Electron Corporation (NYSE:TMO) and Varian Inc. (Nasdaq:VARI)
incorporating the Sionex microDMx technology are being sold.
The capital raised will be used to support both commercial, market
and technical development efforts. In addition it will enable Sionex
to provide additional support to its major customers in the homeland
security, defense, environmental, diagnostics and industrial sectors.
