InnerWireless Closes $11 Million Series C Funding;
Company Increases Commitment to a Managed Wireless Environment for Healthcare, Fortune 1000, and Government Customers

RICHARDSON, TX
BUSINESS WIRE
February 3, 2005

InnerWireless®, Inc., today announced that it raised $11 million from existing investors during the company's recently completed Series C funding. InnerWireless plans to use the funds to further accelerate rollout of the InnerWireless system for healthcare, Fortune 1000, and government markets.

The InnerWireless System is a unified broadband wireless distribution platform capable of delivering services and applications across interpersonal communications, clinical and information technologies, and building services. When installed in a building, the InnerWireless System becomes the equivalent of a Wireless Utility that allows the owner to utilize wireless services and applications in an engineered, guaranteed, and managed environment.

Participants in the Series C funding included Johnson Controls, Inc., (NYSE:JCI), the recognized global leader in building controls and infrastructure, as well as existing InnerWireless venture capital investors Sevin Rosen Funds, Rho Ventures, Massey Burch Capital Corp., Technology Associates Management Company (TAMC), and Genesis Campus.

"InnerWireless continues to make excellent progress in creating a managed wireless environment for our customers," said InnerWireless CEO Ed Cantwell. "We believe 2005 to be a breakout year where the proliferation of wireless services, applications, and devices will fundamentally improve safety and productivity across all market segments; of particular note is the adoption of wireless within healthcare."

Cantwell added: "We plan to use these funds to further accelerate growth by introducing InnerWireless into new markets, and by expanding our global relationship with Johnson Controls. It's truly fascinating to see how pervasive wireless has become, and now, businesses are seeing wireless for what it truly is -- an asset to the enterprise -- and they're taking control of their own wireless utility just like they control their plumbing, heating and air conditioning, electricity, and building-automation platforms."
