Prior to joining Rho in 1993, Habib worked in investment banking and leveraged buyout in New York with Reich & Co. and Jesup & Lamont. He received an MBA from Columbia University . His current and former board seats include: Answersoft (sold to Davox), Innerwireless, Intralinks, iVillage (sold to NBC), ReachLocal, Tripod (sold to Lycos), Tacoda (sold to TW), Travel Ad Network, Waterfront Media, and Yantra (sold to AT&T).

Habib is a Managing Partner of Rho Capital Partners and Rho Ventures and serves on the investment committees of Rho Fund Investors and Rho Canada .
